Mr Baxter has 25 years of operational and executive leadership experience in the resources and engineering services sector. He was most recently the Managing Director of engineering, asset management and construction services company, Calibre Group. Previous roles include Managing Director of Consolidated Minerals and Divisional Director with Anglo American Platinum.
Mr Baxter’s career has included a number of substantial business turnarounds as well as the delivery of growth and transformation strategies in various industry sectors. He has also held non-executive board positions on public company boards.
Martin qualified as a mining engineer at Leeds University in the UK and has over 35 years' experience in the industry. He has worked in senior management and executive roles across several continents and cultures, managing all aspects of the business chain from exploration and project development, production and operations, through to sales and marketing and mine rehabilitation. He has also been project leader in a range of M&A transactions, equity and debt structuring programs and company listings on both the ASX and SGX.
During his career Martin has worked in a broad range of diversified mineral commodities, including base metals, precious metals, industrial and bulk commodities. He has held the role of CEO in both listed and unlisted resource companies, and also worked as lead manager with a UK-based international private equity group. He is a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Independent Non-Executive Director
An experienced director and senior executive, Maree’s career has spanned 30 years in the resources, energy and manufacturing sectors with companies including BHP, Carter Holt Harvey and Wesfarmers.
Maree is a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed Sandfire Resources NL, a Co-Founder/Director of Energy Access Services, who operate an independent WA-focused wholesale gas trading platform and a member of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) Director Advisory Panel.
An active contributor to the not-for-profit sector for 25 years, Maree is a member of CEDA’s (Committee for the Economic Development of Australia) WA State Advisory Council, the Juniper Board – one of WA’s largest aged care community benefit organisations and is a life member and past National Director of the Australia China Business Council.
Mr Beevor was appointed to the Board as a nominee of major shareholder, Resource Capital Fund VI L.P. Mr Beevor is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience (more than 40 years) in financial markets at an executive and director level. Previous roles included Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking with NM Rothschild Australia, and Director, Corporate Finance, with London-based Schroders Group. He brings strong corporate, resource financing and development expertise to the Board.
Mr Beevor is currently the Chairman of ASX-listed, Bannerman Resources, as well as a Non-Executive Director of both ASX-listed Wolf Minerals Ltd and unlisted public company Riversdale Resources Ltd.
Mr Wong has extensive experience in the mineral sands value chain in China, at both a technical and commercial level. He is a Director of Tricoastal Minerals (Holdings) Limited which is the largest mineral sands processor in China with a comprehensive sales and marketing network throughout China. Mr Wong brings additional depth of processing and marketing expertise on the Board.
Mr Zhou is a qualified Engineer from the Beijing University of Science and Technology. Mr Zhou has over 32 years significant technical and commercial experience in iron and steel making, marketing of steel making raw materials and steel commodities, and project development. Mr. Zhou’s work history includes senior roles with major Chinese steel group Shougang Iron & Steel Company, international trading group Itochu China Corporation, Hamersley Iron, Rio Tinto Iron Ore and Rich Mark. Mr Zhou acts as director and executive director of Australian public company Accent Resources since 2012.
External Affairs Manager
Jordeana has worked in the mineral sands’ sector for over 13 years in various community relations and corporate affairs management positions. Having joined MZI in February 2012, Jordeana brings significant project start-up experience for both the Keysbrook and Kilimiraka projects.
General Manager - Marketing
Graeme has worked in the mineral sands industry for 28 years in a variety of senior and executive marketing roles with Iluka Resources and Doral. Over the time he has become well known in the industry having built a strong network of connections. Graeme has wide experience in various industrial materials including titanium, zircon sand silica, fused alumina, fused zirconia, garnet and rare earths. Graeme holds a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University.
Legal Manager & Company Secretary
John has more than 30 years’ experience in legal and corporate affairs in Australia and Southern Africa. He has acted as a legal and commercial manager and company secretary to several Australian resource companies and has been involved in resource projects and acquisitions in Australia, Africa and Indonesia.

Chief Financial Officer
A Member of the Australian Society of Chartered Practicing Accountants, John has more than 20 years of senior corporate experience in the resources industry, including oversight of large-scale financing initiatives and senior management roles with major Australian and international resources companies.
John joins MZI from ASX-listed Centaurus Metals Ltd, where he held the role of Chief Financial Officer from late 2012. Prior roles include Managing Director of resources consulting group OptiroCapital Pty Ltd, Chief Financial Officer of Murchison Metals Ltd, and General Manager Finance for Burrup Fertilisers. John has also spent several years in senior financial management roles with Normandy Mining and North Limited. His experience encompasses several large scale financing initiatives including management of a US$270 million syndicated project facility for Burrup Fertilisers and negotiation and management of a US$100 million private equity bridging facility for Murchison Metals.
